USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Two women have been arrested and charged with a number of prostitution-related offences as a result of a Vancouver Police Vice Unit investigation into an East Vancouver bawdy house at 3660 East Hastings Street.
The women were arrested after a lengthy investigation into the “ISHQ,” a so-called health enhancement centre, where it’s alleged that sexual services were being exchanged for money. Vice investigators obtained a search warrant and seized several pieces of evidence, including computers and cash on September 30th.
The owner, Jasmine Mangat, a 32 year old Surrey resident, was arrested at the business. A second woman, Vanessa Alejandrina Hernandez, a 30 year old Vancouver resident and manager of the centre, turned herself in to police on October 5th after warrants were issued for her arrest on October 1st.
Both women are charged with one count of keeping a common bawdy house, one count of living on the avails of prostitution, and one count of procuring a person into the sex trade. Neither of them are previously known to police and they have both been released from jail with conditions including the following:
· Not to go to 3660 East Hastings Street, Vancouver
· No contact with co-accused
· No contact with any employees found at 3660 East Hastings Street, Vancouver
· Not to be found in any place associated to prostitution, non-therapeutic massage, body rub, adult entertainment or escort agency
Their next court appearance is on October 13th at 11:00 a.m. in Provincial court.
