In another campaign promise by Tory Leader Tim Hudak, he vowed to take immediate action as soon as he forms government and made important decisions in the first 100 days of a Progressive Conservative government. He explained that these key decisions include steps to freeze hiring and wages and call for a judicial inquiry into the gas plants scandal.

Addressing the Mississauga Board of Trade on Friday, Hudak promised that “we will begin to deliver long-overdue change in the first 100 days in office.” He added that “we can and we will act decisively to put Ontario on the path to job creation.” Hudak’s primary election statement is to create one million jobs over eight years. According to Hudak, he will start with trimming his cabinet to 16 ministers from the current 27 under the Liberals. He vowed to make each one of them sign oath to Ontario that will bind them to a certain performance level or face having their pay docked.

In his address, Hudak alleged that “we will open the curtain at Queen’s Park and shine daylight on the secrecy and cover-ups that have been the Liberal operating procedure for too long.” He taunted Liberal Leader Kathleen Wynne for promising to bring the legislature back and reintroduce her failed budget from last month. He said that “she would offer more of the same right from day one,” he told the crowd. “From taxes to trade, from spending to skills, we will act decisively in our first 100 days in office to put job creation first.”
