A website published by Barrie Conservative MP Patrick Brown outlines all reasons why Ontario Progressive Conservatives should elect him as their leader, showing off more than 200 endorsements from party supporters. Brown principally talks about bringing “generational change” to the organization. Despite all that, Brown says he is not sure he will enter the race to replace Tim Hudak.

During an interview, Brown alleged that “it’s premature to speculate on when I may make a decision on whether to run or not.” He said that “I’m going to take advantage of this time now and try to have an extensive conversation with our party grassroots and membership.” Apart from Brown, there are several other conservatives in the province who have launched tentative bids without formally making an announcement. Only one candidate, Deputy Leader Christine Elliott, has formally declared her candidacy while the rest largely wait for the party executives to lay out the rules for the contest and pick a date.

According to Brown, his website is set up by a group of his friends. It invites volunteers and donors to sign up and contains a lengthy list of his supporters, including 12 fellow MPs, senators, Toronto city councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong. Brown alleged that “I’ve heard from members across Ontario, and they’re tired of losing. They’re looking for someone who knows how to win and can bring generational change to our party that we desperately need.”  He said that “I’m going to spend the next little while talking to as many people in the party as I can.”
