The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of two ongoing investigations involving food tampering.

During the month of October 2010, in two separate incidents, customers returned some food products that had clearly been tampered with.

It is believed that the products had been purchased from the No Frills store at 1020 Islington Avenue.

It is reported that a customer found a flathead screw in a container of Marzetti Ranch Veggie Dip. In a separate incident, another customer found a sewing needle in the packaging of the No Name Italian Style Vegetables they just purchased at the same store.

The public is reminded to check the packaging of all food products thoroughly for signs of tampering, prior to purchase.
