The Calgary Police Service is investigating a possible attempted luring at a northwest Calgary school.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, a school supervisor was monitoring students at the King George Elementary School as they boarded school buses at the end of the day. The supervisor noticed a woman in a silver Honda Odyssey minivan parked in a no parking zone.
When the supervisor approached the vehicle the woman said she was here to pick up her daughter who had mobility issues and needed assistance. The supervisor told the woman that she could not be parked in the area. The woman drove off and did not return.
When the student and her brother were asked about the woman picking them up, the children did not recognize the description that the supervisor provided and also had no indication that their mother was going to be picking them up from school.
School officials contacted the mother who confirmed that she was not at the school to pick up her children and had not given direction to anyone else to pick them up.
Investigators will be following up with the mother today.
The woman is described as Caucasian, approximately 40-years-old with a slim build and short blond hair. She was wearing sunglasses.
