RCMP would not confirm or deny that body of Sabrina Patterson has been located.
Comment: It would have been very easy for the police to clearly state that it was not the body of Sabrina Patterson.
RCMP when asked about identity of the deceased person, responded by stating "that the next of kin have to be notified first, before name of the deceased can be released "
Reports from the ground confirm that there has been increase in police activity around Sabrina’s next of kin home.
Non-denial by the RCMP as to the identity of the body and increase in police activity around Sabrina’s home would lead this writer to believe that the body of Sabrina Patterson has been found.
Background:
A body has been discovered in a wooded area in the Shenstone, N.B. area.
Further news releases will be issued as more information becomes available.
Update: 5.41 pm EST
New Brunswick RCMP would not say Saturday whether the body had been identified as Sabrina Patterson, a 25-year-old mother of two from Shenstone who has been missing for more than a week.
Fred Prosser, the father of her children, was also reported missing Monday, but he was located Thursday by RCMP.
The 31-year-old was charged in Moncton provincial court on Friday with assaulting Patterson and stealing her cellphone on Oct. 9.
He was also charged with breaching a court order to stay away from her stemming from a previous assault charge.
None of the charges was related to her disappearance.
Prosser and Patterson had an on-again, off-again relationship dating back seven years and have a four-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl.
CBC is reporting the body was found near Prosser’s house in Shenstone, N.B.
Patterson’s family and friends were planning a search on Saturday in the area along the shores of the Petitcodiac River.
Police said the scene has been sealed off and that work is being done to make a positive identification of the body.
