OPP Offers $50,000 for Info to Solve Peterborough-area Missing Woman Case

In an important announcement on Tuesday, Peterborough County OPP detachment confirmed that the provincial government has announced a $50,000 reward for anyone who helps find the suspects in the search for Peterborough-area resident, Lorraine Roach, missing since May 2013.

Officials confirmed that the reward is offered to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Roach’s disappearance. In its remarks, police reiterated that it still strongly suspects foul play in Roach’s disappearance and that the case continues as a criminal investigation. Police made a public appeal during the press conference, asking anyone having significant information that might lead to the whereabouts of Roach or to an arrest to come forawrd. OPP spokesperson Sgt., Peter Leon, stressed that “we do believe strongly that someone out there holds a very valuable some piece of information that could lead to solving this missing person investigation.”

58-year-oold Roach went missing on the early morning hours of May 11, 2013. She was last seen leaving the home at around 1:30 a.m. that night, after which she was again reportedly seen returning home a few hours later. However, authorities found her minivan a few several kilometres away, although no trace of her was ever found. Earlier in October, Peterborough County OPP detachment’s crime unit forensic identification services conducted a search on the Roach home but failed to find any helpful new clues.
