An extremely controversial comedian, 77-year-old Bill Cosby, has finally made his much-criticized first stage appearance since November in a one day show at Kitchener Centre in Kitchener, Ontario. Cosby refrained from even hinting about the allegations during the show since he already had to cancel 10 dates of his North American tour due to the flood of sexual and violence allegations him.

The Kitchener’s show was held despite threats of mass protests and nearly two dozen protesters showing up for demonstration at the venue, some bearing signs saying Rape is No Joke. According to one of the protestors, Stella Goertzen, Cosby should have stayed away as “I think they should have closed down the venue and just said you know what, this is not good for our city.” She stressed that “I’m against violence against women.” The show allegedly revolved around jokes regarding the weather, and Cosby’s experiences at Sunday school and army boot camp. Several audience even claimed that the show received a standing ovation and Cosby telling the audience that he had had a “wonderful time.”

Mr. Cosby has been accused of sexual assault by at least 18 women, each of which he has denied. Quite noticeably, Costly was never criminally charged. Most recently, three more women claimed to be drugged and sexually assaulted by Mr. Cosby between 1981 and 1996. The allegations were revealed on January 7, during a press conference held by a lawyer, Gloria Allred, who said the accusations are too old for criminal charges or lawsuits.
