Clinton to Speak on Terrorism in Saskatoon

The most influential woman in U.S. politics, Hillary Rodham Clinton, mentioned in her remarks during a lunch hosted by the city’s chamber of commerce in Winnipeg that the international community has to unite against target extremist propaganda that is drawing radicals to the cause. Clinton is in the area to speak in Saskatoon on Wednesday night, and later at TCU Place at 7 p.m.

Whereas addressing the audience at the lunch, Clinton stated that everyone has a stake in defeating terrorism. She explained that “it may seem very far away from Winnipeg but indeed it is a struggle that all of us have a stake in making sure our side wins.” Clinton stressed that the extremism has most often hurt the vast majority of Muslims who are a “peaceful and tolerant” people. However, she refused to give her comments on the Keystone XL pipeline since has quite noticeably remained neutral on the issue so far.

TCU Place security services supervisor, Marty Gilley, mentioned in his remarks that they have been working with RCMP and the U.S. Secret Service for the past week. Gilley stated that “to source out the site, inspect all kinds of potential hazards from bomb threats to smoke bombs that could be put in intakes into our building to make the event go south,” adding that “the day of the show, the rest of the Secret Service fly in from other points of the United States of America. A full deployment is approximately 65 agents that will be in the house for the event.”
