The National Ministry of Petroleum in South Sudan announced on Tuesday that oil production has increased by 9,000 barrels per day (bpd) in comparison to December last year.
Addressing reporters in Juba, the Minister of Petroleum, Stephen Dhieu Dau said that the country is nowproducing 169,000 bpd from December last year which was at 160,000 bpd.
“We were producing at the average of 160,000 but it has been increased now from the beginning of this year. It has gotten to 168,000 to 169,000.” Said Dau
The one year civil war, that broke out in mid December 2013 reduced oil production in the country and oil revenues considerably declined.
