The owner of Eagle’s Landing Bed and Breakfast, Janice Tobin, has alleged to have had a run-in with a dangerous couple, Cara Duval and Joseph Pepin, missing from an Ontario mental health facility. According to Tobin, the couple visited her motel on Monday afternoon, when “the woman came to the door and he stayed in the car.”

The missing duo, Pepin and Duval, were first reported missing from the North Bay Hospital’s Mental Health and the Law program on Jan. 22. They were spotted in New Brunswick twice, where RCMP claims they attempted to rent an apartment in Doaktown, N.B. on Sunday. Tobin revealed on Monday that the woman, identified herself as Duval, and asked about a price for a room. Tobin recalled that “I said, ‘You’re coming in before the storm’. And she said they were coming from New Brunswick and looking for an apartment.” She recalled that “she said ‘We’re just tired and we need to make some phone calls.’”

Furthermore, Tobin explained to have given Duval a quote for an apartment and was asked whether the bed and breakfast takes cash. According to Toby, “I said we can and she said, ‘OK, I’ll check with my husband,’ but then they drove off.” Truro Police has revealed to have had not confirmed sightings of the couple since Monday. Insp. Robert Hearn refrained from explaining why the couple is considered dangerous and referred the matter to police in North Bay.
