David Nonis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday the hockey club has acquired forward Matt Frattin from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for forward Jerry D’Amigo and a conditional seventh round draft pick in the 2015 Entry Draft.

Frattin, 26, returns to Toronto after previously playing for the Maple Leafs from 2010-11 to 2012-13. In 82 career games with the Blue and White, the 6-0, 200-pound forward registered 28 points on 15 goals and 13 assists, along with 29 penalty minutes. He split last season between the Los Angeles Kings and the Blue Jackets during which he played 44 games collecting seven points (two goals, five assists) and 11 penalty minutes.  Los Angeles acquired Frattin from Toronto on June 23, 2013 in a trade that saw goaltender Jonathan Bernier obtained by the Maple Leafs. He was originally Toronto’s second choice, selected 99th overall, in the 2007 Entry Draft.

D’Amigo played 22 games for the Maple Leafs in 2013-14 and earned one goal and two assists. He spent most of the past four seasons with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies and was chosen 158th overall by the Maple Leafs in the 2009 Entry Draft.
