Pakistan and New Zealand will face each other in a short two match ODI series with the opening match at Wellington on Saturday.

New Zealand have thoroughly dominated the touring team Sri Lanka at home by winning the ODI series with 4-2. However, the hosts had to sustain a minor blow as they lost the dead rubber to the visitors. But the main thing to notice is their fine form except their batsmen Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor. Now are their final two chances for the out of form players to get things right through showing results. The likely Kiwi line-up will include: 1 Martin Guptill, 2 Brendon McCullum (capt.), 3 Kane Williamson, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Grant Elliott, 6 Luke Ronchi (wk) , 7 Corey Anderson, 8 Nathan McCullum/ Daniel Vettori, 9 Tim Southee, 10 Mitchell McClenaghan, 11 Trent Boult.

On the other hands, Pakistan’s bowling department which is considered to be their major strength in the past, is still missing their key bowler as Junaid Khan due to his nerve-related thigh injury. However, the most worrying thing is their inconsistency to perform with the bat as in the second warp-up match, the visitors had crumbled to 79 for 5 in the 18th over in Lincoln, before skipper Misbah-ul-Haq launched a familiar revival, alongside Umar Akmal. Still, the top order is required to perform big in order to claim some victory against such a challenging opponent. The probable Pakistani squad will include: 1 Mohammad Hafeez, 2 Ahmed Shehzad, 3 Younis Khan, 4 Misbah-ul-Haq (capt.), 5 Umar Akmal, 6 Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), 7 Shahid Afridi, 8 Bilawal Bhatti, 9 Wahab Riaz, 10 Mohammad Irfan, 11 Sohail Khan/ Ehsan Adil.
