Bloor-Yorkville Lights Up for Holiday Magic Bloor-Yorkville kicks off holiday season with lighting ceremony and a special performance by renowned singer-songwriter and pianist Sarah Slean Toronto, ON. November 2013 On Saturday, November 16th, the Bloor-Yorkville Business Improvement Area (BYBIA) will kick-off the holiday season in the vibrant heart of the city by presenting Holiday Magic, the spectacular annual musical community event in support of the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR). Between 5 pm 6:30 pm, friends, families and music lovers are invited to the Village of Yorkville Park for a special Sarah Slean with Strings performance by the renowned singer-songwriter and pianist, and the Official Flick the Switch Lighting Ceremony. The Juno-nominated artist will be performing songs off her newest highly acclaimed album, Land & Sea. The musical entertainment will commence with a special 15-minute performance by the Rosedale Day School Choir. Holiday Magic attendees can also look forward to free cookies and hot apple cider as they enjoy the glittering lights, majestic Christmas tree and storefronts adorned with festive decorations. As is Holiday Magic tradition, we are excited to host a unique concert experience for all to enjoy in support of an important cause and ushering in the festive season with the unveiling of the areas holiday light display, say Briar de Lange, Executive Director of the Bloor-Yorkville Business Improvement Area (BYBIA). We look forward to welcoming the public as they shop, dine and spend time together in this neighborhood throughout holidays. The BYBIA will showcase a dazzling seasonal light display that will transform Bloor Street into a glowing, sparkling, tree-lined winter promenade. In addition to the giant Christmas tree located in the Village of Yorkville Park, area patrons can also look forward to a glowing, 20-foot tree with more than 22,000 LED lights displayed at the corner of Yonge and Bloor Streets.
