As this year’s season is nearing its end, we are very excited to announce our final concert, which will take place at Eastminster United Church 310 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, on Saturday, March 19, 8:00 p.m. Doors open at 7:30.

The practice of arranging popular tunes for more intimate settings outside of the concert hall has been widely employed for centuries. Great works of great composers of the late 18th and early 19th century were no exception, many of them appeared in countless arrangements, either by the composer himself or by other lesser-known musicians. In its final concert of the season, Academy Concert Series presents Mozart’s famous masterwork, the Sinfonia Concertante K.364 arranged for a string sextet ensemble, and Beethoven’s groundbreaking violin sonata, “Kreutzer” op. 47, for cello quintet.

Performers:

Chris Verrette, violin

Ashley Vandiver, violin

Emily Eng, viola

Shannon Knights, viola

Alastair Eng, cello

Kerri McGonigle, cello
