Amitabh Bachchan doesn’t sign too many films as age is not on his side

Ever since Amitabh Bachchan made his Bollywood debut in Saath Hindustani, the actor has done some of the most iconic roles that have made him the megastar of the nation. From comedy to drama to romance, the megastar has done everything. In recent times, Amitabh Bachchan has done all kinds of roles like playing a grey shade as Subhash Nagre in Sarkar to the quirky Bhashkor Banerjee in Piku to an intense lawyer named Deepak Sehgal with bipolar disorder in Pink.

In a recent interview with a tabloid, Amitabh Bachchan opened up about accepting his age factor being one of the major reasons to choose his films. The megastar said that a lot of filmmakers approach him with film scripts and say that they will wait for two to three years until his dates are free for their films. He accepted that age is not on his side and so he doesn’t commit to anything two years prior. At 75, he says that one can never know what might go wrong. He might not be able to work. There are, indeed, so many ‘ifs’.

Amitabh Bachchan further added that whenever filmmakers approach him, he prefers to discuss what they can do in next few months. He always says that they should rather overcome the period of upcoming six months and then they can talk further about the project. He says to them they should not look at him the way they look at Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh as time is on their side.

Currently, Amitabh Bachchan is shooting for Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3 where he reprises the role of gangster turned politician Subhash Nagre. Soon, he will start shooting for YRF’s Thugs of Hindostan alongside Aamir Khan.
