The years 2018 and 2019 will bring many fresh pairs to the big screen. One of the pairs coming together will be Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The duo is coming together for the very first time on silver screen and they have already wrapped up their film. As from the behind the scenes and social media conversations, it seems like the lead pair got along really well.
In a candid interview with Filmfare recently, Alia Bhatt opened up about working with quirk-man Ranveer Singh in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. She called him fantastic and a boy at heart. She said, “Ranveer Singh is fantastic. He is my Gully Boy. Genuinely, a boy at heart but so much to learn from him. He totally blown me away with his performance in Padmaavat & I think he’s going to blow people away with his performance in Gully Boy which is very different.”
Alia, then, went onto praise Zoya Akhtar with whom she is working for the very first time. “Zoya is fantastic. She is so funny, so chilled out and so focused and organized. I have never been on a set like this where everything is just happening and I don’t worry about anything. It’s amazing and a great vibe. I think that vibe will, hopefully, translate on the screen.”
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy would be the second collaboration between Zoya and Ranveer after Dil Dhadakne Do. The film is slated to release on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2019.
