But today, she is a woman who is waiting for her payment dues from the makers of the Sunny Deol's yet to be released film Mohalla Assi.

Reportedly, Michella Gemito had translated the work of writer Kashinath Singh's Hindi novel 'Kashi Ka Assi' in Italian language about two years back. At that time, a Bollywood movie was being planned on the same book. That's when the book's author had asked Michella to meet Vinay Tiwari (Crossword Entertainment) and director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, to take the story forward in terms of a film. Vinay and Chandra Prakash were happy to meet Michella as she had taken the story of their film Mohalla Assi to an international audience. The said filmmakers then created a role in the film for Michella, who, immediately agreed to fly down to Varanasi from Rome at her own expense. But, because she had to wait till her visa arrived, she shot for the film at a later stage. The present day status is that Michella, who was promised a fee of Rs. 6 lakh for her role in the film, is still waiting for the producers to hand over her the amount. Not just that, even the expenses she underwent due to this have not been reimbursed.

Speaking about this incident, Michella said that she is not an actress or a tourist and that she had come particularly for the project since she was extremely fond of Varanasi and the Indian culture. And when several mails and reminders to Vinay Tiwari yielded zero results, she has now sent the production house a legal notice. This self confessed ardent Bollywood buff said that, even though she had a great time working with Sunny Deol and Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, she is extremely disappointed with the production house and their unprofessional behavior.

Meanwhile, the film's producer, Vinay Tiwari, who initially denied having any knowledge about the incident, finally said that she (Michella Gemito) had worked in the film, but they didn't owe her any kind of payment. He added that they have reverted to her legal notice.

Michella Gemito is planning to visit Mumbai soon and sort out her financial dues.
