Sri Lanka will start their tour of New Zealand with the test series and the opening test to be played at Christchurch on Friday.
The pitch at Christchurch is likely to favour the bowlers with a green grass on the cards for first day of the Test. New Zealand will like their chances on this wicket with their al- round bowling attack. Tim Southee is the swing bowler in the New Zealand team and he would probably create problems for the Sri Lankan batsman but he does have to land the ball well. On the other hands, Sri Lanka have a group of bowlers who have struggled recently. The opening pair of Karunaratne and Silva have a massive job to face the new ball which will be extremely difficult on a pitch suited to swing bowling.
