Fugitive Llesh Biba, 30, of Albania arrested in Toronto

On Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at noon, the Toronto Fugitive Squad, the Provincial ROPE Squad and Canada Border Services Agency arrested a fugitive from the United States.
It is alleged that:
- Llesh Biba, 30, of Albania, committed two home invasions in the Eastern District of New York City, in May 2008,
- in November 2009, he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl and was arrested by the NYPD Special Victims Unit,
- while awaiting trial on those charges, he fled to Canada where he evaded authorities,
- he was arrested in the GTA under an assumed name.
He is being held in custody pending an extradition hearing.
