Girls killed In Stampede After Musical Concert

Three girls were killed and many were injured during the stampede after the musical concert ended at Alhamra Cultural Complex, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore last night.

A big crowd of young girls attended the musical concert of their college in which Pakistan’s famed singers like Arif Lohar, Atif Aslam and Aini performed. After the concert was over, there occurred a wild rush of girls due to bomb plot rumor at Alhamra Cultural Complex. Running to save their lives, many girls fell unconscious and injured whereas three died at the spot.

According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Ghulam Mahmood Doga, "When the concert ended, some girls rushed towards Mr. Aslam to get his autograph. To save Mr. Aslam from the crowd, the security guards resorted to a light baton charge which caused panic among the girls.”

Injured girls were immediately taken to hospital however, Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered a inquiry of this incident.
