July 26, 2010 – Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man and a woman at 8600 Woodway Drive about 10:25 a.m. on July 14.

The suspect, Brandon Wayne Cannon (b/m, DOB: 7-22-91), is charged with capital murder in the 209th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Mark A. Williams, 28, of Lynwood, California, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, and Danielle M. Coats, of Seagoville, Texas, 23, who suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she later died.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Howard and Senior Police Officer E. Castañeda reported:

HPD patrol officers and HFD emergency personnel responded to a shooting call at the above location. Mr. Williams and Ms. Coats were found inside a silver Cadillac Escalade that appeared to have rolled from the street and struck a parked vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot.
