Island catches fire twice, SCDF remains busy

Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) remained busy the entire day with two different fires breaking out at the northeastern side of the Island on Monday. Both the fires were reported to be on totally different sides and so far no injuries have been reported.

The first fire incident was reported at 1am in the incinerator plant of waste materials at Tuas View Crescent which is a plant spread over 1,600 square meters and is owned by Eco Special Waste Management Company. The spokesperson of SCDF informed that media that upon receiving the call, a team of four fire engines, one ambulance and seven other vehicles used for assistance in the process were sent to the location immediately. SCDF team had the fire under control within 30 minutes and no casualties were reported as the plant was already evacuated when the SCDF team arrived.

The second fire was reported at about 2pm in the north eastern region of the island. About ten firefighters were sent to the location of Pulau Tekong where the fire broke out. A marine vessel had to be called in for help as the fire was huge. The fire was reported to have completely extinguished by 6 30 pm and only affected the land reclamation machinery and products.
