On Monday the 31st of May 2010 and Tuesday the 1st of June 2010 news releases were issued by the Toronto Police Service, 11 Division concerning food tampering.

The news releases were intended to alert the public to several brands of sausages which had been purchased at local grocery stores and found to have needles embedded in them.

On Friday the 9th of July 2010 at 4:30 p.m., a woman was arrested at a grocery store on Dundas Street West in relation to the above mentioned ongoing food tampering investigation.
