In August 2009, the Winnipeg Police Service issued a Warrant for Arrest for Walid Ahmed ABDELHAMID, 30 years for failing to attend court as required pertaining to an incident dating back to June 15, 2009.
ABDELHAMID was arrested on August 6, 2010 while travelling through an airport located in Crete, Greece.
He has been detained in Greece since that time on the strength of the warrant.
Canadian and Greek Authorities are presently working together.
