Parking lot tragedy leaves mother of three dead, Newmarket

On Friday, December 24, 2010, Jennifer Salandy, a 37-year-old mother of three young children, attended Southlake Regional Health Center to visit her Grandmother. After her departure, Mrs. Salandy was found pinned between her vehicle and the driver’s side door near the exit of the parking lot. She was rushed into the hospital where sadly, she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, December 25, 2010.

It is reported that Mrs. Salandy was operating a Pontiac Montana van which was exiting the parking lot at the parking control in the east lot of the hospital. The victim exited her vehicle to pay for parking, however her vehicle moved forward and the driver became trapped between her vehicle and a pole causing critical injuries.

There was an immediate lifesaving response to assist the victim however the injuries were extensive and sadly the victim succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, December 25, 2010, at
approximately 3 a.m.

Information regarding a trust fund for Mrs. Salandy’s three young children will be announced in the coming days.
