FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke said the tickets will become available tomorrow morning and if they are all sold the tournament will reach 98 per cent of its 2.9 million capacity.
“We are very pleased with the final result. We were a bit concerned a few months ago, now we are definitely pleased,” said Valcke about the ticket sales.
Last month FIFA introduced an over-the-counter, sales-for-cash scheme in South Africa after the internet, credit card-based system had poor results in the host country.
