In Grace Needs a Mirror, writer-performer Joyce Lu’s thought-provoking new drama, a professor is thrown from the halls of academia and into a psychiatric hospital, where she meets a host of characters who force her to confront karma from her past life as an opium lord in Shanghai. Lu collaborates with video designer Hsuan-Kuang Hsieh to braid different worlds together in order to explore various means of escaping the spaces that are constructed to limit us. Grace Needs a Mirror is presented at Highways Performance Space and Gallery in Santa Monica, and features special guest Aidan Park and original music by Florence Yoo. Learn more…
