Pomona Fairplex (Pomona, CA)
For over four decades, Oakland natives Tower of Power have been entertaining audiences with their unique brand of funky, brass-heavy soul and R&B. The legendary 10-piece outfit is best known for a string of soulful radio hits in the 1970s, including “You’re Still a Young Man,” “So Very Hard to Go,” “What is Hip?” and “Don’t Change Horses (in the Middle of a Stream).” Founded in 1968 and still going strong, see why the Hollywood Reporter called Tower of Power’s live show “tighter than a clenched fist.” For their performance at the Los Angeles Country Fair, Tower of Power will be joined by very special guest Average White Band, the Scottish funkmasters best remembered for the classic disco-funk instrumental “Pick Up the Pieces.”
