Converge Lecture Series is excited to host artists Chris Curreri and Luis Jacob together in a lecture at Ryerson University’s School of Image Arts. The evening will present a layered conversation between individual practices. Both Curreri and Jacob are established makers within the Toronto and international art communities, though this will be the first time that they speak publicly about their own work through the dialogue that has existed between their practices for many years. Curreri will be returning to Ryerson as an alumnus of the school’s BFA Photography program, and was shortlisted for the Sobey Art Award in late 2014. An acclaimed speaker on a variety of topics and ideas, Jacob was most recently featured this past November in the Big Ideas in Art + Culture lecture series presented by Musagetes and CAFKA.
Converge is a public lecture series held at Ryerson University’s School of Image Arts. Programmed by senior Image Arts students, the series presents leading contemporary artists working in photography, film and a variety of other media. The lectures offer direct and meaningful interactions between artistic professionals and students.
We recommend arriving early as seating is limited.
