Toronto fans of indie film and music will get another chance to watch their favourite stars under the stars, as the Open Roof Festival (ORF) returns for its sixth season, running weekly from June 17 through to August 19.

The fifth night of this year’s Festival continues with Toronto hip-hop musicians Abdominal & The Obliques. Toronto rapper Abdominal has been on the music scene for over ten years and will be bringing his award-winning songs to the ORF stage. The film of the night will be Canadian documentary, The Sandwich Nazi, directed by Lewis Bennett. This fascinating documentary follows Salam Kahil, a sandwich maker to the homeless in Vancouver’s poorest neighbourhood, who also loves to tell stories about his time as a jet-setting male escort. At turns crass and funny, heart-warming and heart-breaking, this film packs a powerful punch.

This year, our on-site caterer, Aura by Cashew & Clive, will present a unique, accompanying menu each week— the perfect pairing for a refreshing beer from ORF’s long-standing partner Amsterdam Brewery.
