On Thursday, March 3, 2011, members of the Lamèque, Shippagan and Caraquet detachments of the RCMP, with the assistance of the Technological Crime Unit in Fredericton, executed a search warrant at a residence in Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël, in the Acadian Peninsula.
Police seized computer equipment, photos and videos that show a person who is or is depicted as being under 18 years of age and is engaged in explicit sexual activity.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and is expected to face several charges in connection with this matter. He will appear in court on May 3, 2011. The investigation is ongoing.
