In the past number of times, You might have witnessed many films on Friendship and Love. Rangrezz is yet another film which revolves around true and undying Friendship and the struggle of Friends who try to unite two lovers.
The film is a re-make of the Tamil film Naadodigal [2009] which was remade in various Indian languages. A tale of friendship with a love story integrated in the plot line. The film narrates the story of Rishi Deshpande (Jackky Bhagnani) and his two other friends who lives in Slum and who attempt to unite another friend with his lady-love. In the process, each of them loses something precious. The three friends gets a rude shock when they realize that the hardships and struggle they went thru to unite the lovers has proved worthless as the lovers decide to go separate ways owing to differences.
Jackky Bhagnani and his gang acts very well in the film. Rajpal Yadav is first rate with his striking lines. Priya Anand is cute and charming. Rest of the actors played their respective parts very well. I must also admit, The entire film is only focused on Jackky Bhagnani and let me also add, Jackky has improved as an actor.
The script of the film especially the screenplay (Mushtaq Shiekh) is so powerful that it keeps you hooked to your seats till the edge. Priyadarshan filmed every scene of the film very beautifully and the credit also goes to Santosh Sivan’s class apart camera-work. However, Music is a big let-down in the film (Including the Gangnam Style). It looks as the songs were ‘Forced’ in the film.
Rangrezz is a better film for it’s script that scores for it’s wonderfully thought climax. The film also scores a fresh perspective on the cliched tale of love, which is commendable. The second half is little dragging, But overall a decent film to look for.
