$55,000 raised in support of the D.I.F.D Fund at the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health

Bell and the Sens Foundation are pleased to announce that $55,000 was raised at the second annual Bell Sens Youth Mental Health Awareness Night in support of the Do It For Daron (D.I.F.D.) Fund at the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.

The funds raised by the Sens Foundation will be directed in support of mental health initiatives, including the early identification and intervention program for youth at the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health. Last year, the Sens Foundation pledged $100,000 to this important project.

“On behalf of the Sens Foundation, I want to thank our sponsors, volunteers, participants and our fans for their hard work and generosity,” said Danielle Robinson, president of the Sens Foundation. “Thanks to their support more children in our community will have access to mental health programs and services.”

“Bell is pleased to have participated again this year as the sponsor of the Bell Sens Youth Mental Health Awareness Night,” said Mary Deacon, chair, Bell Let’s Talk mental health initiative. “This event is a great opportunity to raise awareness and funds for mental health, one of the most pervasive yet underfunded health challenges facing Canadians today. On Feb. 8, Bell Let’s Talk Day, we invite everyone to join the conversation about mental health.”

“D.I.F.D. has moved the Ottawa community to new levels of generosity and engagement,” said Andree Steel, president and chief executive officer of the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health. “We are inspiring conversations about mental health and suicide and seeing more young people reach out for help for the very first time as individuals and businesses are making a difference with their philanthropy.”
