Youths Should Refrain From Immoral Behaviours: EES Governor

Govoner Louis Lobong shaking hands with a section of youths in a past event at Torit freedom square football playground [©Gurtong]While officiating a 2 day conference under the theme ‘Peace, Solidarity and Development’ attended by youths last Tuesday in Kapoeta South County in Eastern Equatoria State, Governor, Louis Lobong Lojore challenged youths to engage in development initiatives and to shun immoral behaviours.

The workshop drew hundreds of participants from the three Toposa predominant Counties of Kapoeta East, North and South. The Governor urged them to embrace peace and to work hard in order to generate income in a bid to fight poverty in the State. 
  
He assured the youths that the future of South Sudan lies on their hands, he urged them to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS and other cross cutting issues that are alarming in the State which needs collective vigilance.

Hon. Lobong told them to keep away from cattle raiding and to concentrate in education in order to be employed. This would help them to grow economically and socially and also to be informed.   
  
The youths were also challenged to play a central role in food production in order to fight hunger in the State. 
  
While speaking to Gurtong via telephone, the Kapoeta South County Commissioner Mr. Martin Lorika Lojam said that the conference shall enable the Toposa youths to exchange ideas in the 3 Counties, share experiences that can enable to tackle issues affecting them. 
  
A cross-section of the media in the State reported that the Governor encouraged the youths to organize themselves and to excel academically before they get married so that they become responsible. 
  
The conference aimed at coordinating all the youth activities in the three Counties and beyond in order to voice the plight of Toposa youths including poverty and illiteracy and get possible solutions. The conference also targeted leadership, war on HIV AIDS and youth unemployment in Greater Kapoeta Counties.
