Hon. Louis Lobong Lojore pose moments after speaking to Gurtong in Torit [©Gurtong]“In exercise of powers vested upon me under article 99 (2) {L} of the Transitional constitution of Eastern Equatoria State 2011; and concurrence to the resolution of the council of ministers’ extraordinary sitting No. 02/2012 of 30/01/2012, on the restructuring of the State ministries, I Louis Lobong Lojore do hereby issue a gubernatorial decree for the restructuring of State ministries in EES,” the Governor’s decree reference No. GO/EES/T/1.B.5 reads in part.

The following are the 14 ministries being restructured; 
  
1) The Ministry of Cabinet and Parliamentary Affairs, 
2) The Ministry of Public Administration and Internal Affairs, 
3) The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, 
4) The Ministry of Labor, Public Service and Human Resource Development, 
5) The Ministry of Health, 
6) The Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, 
7) The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Irrigation, Cooperatives and Community Development, 
8) The Ministry of Transport and Roads, 
9)  The Ministry of Education, 
10) The Ministry of Commerce, Investment, Industry and Mining, 
11) The Ministry of Environment, Wildlife Conservation and Tourism, 
12) The Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities, 
13) The Ministry of Culture, Social Development, Youth and Sports, 
14) The Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries

The decree comes into effect from 28th February 2012. 
 
While speaking to Gurtong last Wednesday, Governor Lobong responded to Gurtong’s question on the role of the Ministry of Commerce, Investment, Industry and Mining.

The governor asserted that apart from advocating for EES’ potential unexploited resources to the world, the new ministry will attract foreign investors to invest in the State.
