They condemned the killings and accused the government of failing to act after the crisis begun on Saturday and extended to Monday without a serious intervention from the national government which is in charge of national security.

The group marched while carrying six coffins with bodies through the ministries road and stopped outside parliament where they mourned and wept for over 30 minutes before proceeding for burial.

The issue is still escalating with gun shots heard in Munuki. The Bari community has called on the government to put mechanisms of averting the crisis.

The fight erupted between a few Dinka, Nuer and Bari people last Saturday in Kemiru area of Munuki Payam, Juba County and extended to other neighbouring areas leaving at least ten people dead.

Land wrangles between the three communities ensued on Saturday after alleged demolition was set to take place in the area.

The community has accused the government of failing to control the crisis in Kemiru that extended to the neighbouring areas a few days later.

The national speaker Hon. James Wani Igga said that they were angered by both the National and State governments for not even sending a condolence message to the berieved families of the victims.

“We don’t have leaders because if such a thing can happen and the national government or even the State government cannot pass a condolence message, then we are disappointed,” he said.

The group had banners questioning what the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) says about land.

However, if the government fail to immediately handle this crisis, the situation is likely to increase as the fight takes a new twist from daylight to midnight shootings.
