The South African National Road Agency Limited (Sanral) made an announcement on Wednesday that it will very soon revise the terms and conditions of the users of the road who have registered with the Gauteng e-tolling system.

The e-tolling system of Gauteng is scheduled to be implemented by the end of the month of April; however, the case regarding some of the terms and conditions of the new system proposed is still in the court and a conclusion upon the case has yet not been derived. The proposed e-tolling system is facing a lot of protests by the public as well as Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu). Cosatu also announced to give in their further protest schedules on Wednesday.

After quite a few meeting amongst the Sanral and National Consumer Commission (NCC) in the previous days which ended up in deadlocks, the two bodies are once again meeting up to come down to some conclusion with the help of the Democratic Alliance (DA) party. Explaining further on revision implementation process, Sanral revealed that the revision will consider all residents who have registered with the e-tolling system and/or are planning to register themselves with the system, without giving any disadvantage to those who have already registered.
