SOS To Support Orphaned Children

The agreement targets to assist 250 orphans and will start in Malakal and Juba. Helmut Kutin, the SOS President said the deal targets to provide orphans with care, love, protection, equal chance and opportunities.  

Kutin explained that part of the agreement outlined the commitment of the two partners; the national government and SOS in ensuring the progress and success of the initiative. 

“We are very pleased about this cooperation which we are now fortifying and also looking forward to the support of the government,” Kutin told journalists shortly after signing the agreement. 

Meanwhile, the government has underscored the efforts to initiate the program in order to address challenges faced by neglected street children in the infant nation.

“I will assure SOS that the government and the people of South Sudan will fully cooperate and assist in seeing the programme a big success,” Charles Manyang, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who signed the agreement on behalf of the government said. 

However, Kutin urged for total cooperation and commitment while outlining that; “building a project is easy but sustaining it for many years to come is what we need to strategize on.” 

According Mr. Helmut Kutin, SOS provides a family and home for more than 78,000 children in 518 Children’s Villages in 134 countries in the world including South Sudan.
