Mr. Onyoti Adigo NyikwechThe leader of minority in the National Legislative Assembly Mr. Onyoti Adigo Nyikwech yesterday said in a press conference that now time for SPLM and the Government of South Sudan to involve all political parties and other stakeholders in the negations as the outstanding issues are national in characteristics and need the consensus of all South Sudanese for resolution.

Onyoti said that, “We need to remind ourselves that it is the single –handed partisan approach of the SPLM that led us in to current confusion on where Panthou really belongs”. The SPLM-DC also urged the International Communities to continue helping the two countries to avoid war in order to enhance peace.

“The power of dialogue and non-violence approaches to contentious issues is the best way to go as stipulated in the charters of the UN, African Union as well as other regional organizations that advocate for peace in the world,” he said.

Onyoti called on the Government to dispatch senior and well experienced diplomats to the strategic locations internationally in order to inform the world about the position of south Sudan on its rights to liberate and defend its territorial integrity and the people.

Meanwhile, the SPLM-DC expressed deep concerns and that it is alarmed by what they called “worsening political and security situation of the two Sudans” and affirmed its stand on the defence of the core values of territorial integrity and sovereignty of South Sudanese at all cost.

Onyoti added that his party is in full support of the speech made by President Salva Kiir on the political and security situation in South Sudan, especially on liberation of Panthou which he said is a territory of South Sudan together with other areas as per 1/1 1956 border.

“We support the National Army SPLA for their victory in Panthou aimed at liberating our territory in order to enforce the sovereignty of the new country in all areas that belongs to it,” he said.

The SPLM-DC condemned what they termed as devastating aerial bombardments and other methods of destruction that have been carried out by the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) on the territories of South Sudan and that it is now time for the National Army to develop its air defence capacity so that it can deter the country’s airspace violators.
