The month-long training funded by Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) has drawn journalists from different print and electronic media in South Sudan.
The NPA Civil Society Coordinator James Boboya said the training’s intention is to equip the journalists with skills and knowledge for effective reporting through the use of information technology.

“In a society like South Sudan which is still developing, the journalists have to be trained on basic computer skills,” he said

The sessions to be covered during the training are basic packages necessary for journalists like Introduction to Information Technology and Microsoft Windows.

Others sessions include proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Publisher,Internet browsing and Surfing.

The participants are members of the Union of Journalists of South Sudan selected from Lakes, Eastern Equatoria and Western Equatoria states.
