The Physical Infrastructure Minister Clement Mbugoniwia has called on the Land Commission Chairperson Alfred Riruyo to work with other partners in reviewing the draft which has been available since he assumed office in April.
Mbugoniwia said that the Sate Land Administration and Management Regulation Bill was drafted in accordance with Article 164(3) and together with Article 171 (8) of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan (2011), aims at enhancing proper management of land registration at all levels.
The bill will ensure fair and equitable land use and management for the general development of the state.
The objective is to operationalise and simplify the 2009 Land Act in Western Equatoria State.
After the third reading of the regulation, the ministry organized a two-day workshop for three County Commissioners, NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, and traditional leaders to make recommendations before the bill is passed to the Council of Ministers for deliberation.
Some of the recommendations were to translate the regulations in various languages for easy understanding.
