On Tuesday, members of Reizigat Arab tribe from Sudan launched a deadly attack on the South Sudanese civilian’s population in the disputed Mile 14 area in northern Bahr el Ghazal state killing two policemen and one civilian.

“Sudanese government which Reizigat nomadic people belong to must take the responsibility for this attack which is now a violation to the recent north condition of the implementing the cooperation agreement signed this month to pull out both forces 10 kilometres outside from the contested border,” said Naro.

He said the attack is a violation to all agreements signed by both countries as key of ending conflict.

Naro also urged the government of South Sudan to allow the international community to know that this is a violation of all agreements reached.

The widespread condemnation continued as Mario Nyibang, a state assembly member representing the constituency number 16 called on the United Nations Interim Security Forces (UNISFA) to prevent any further escalation of violence.

“It is very disgusted that our forces have recently withdrawn from the disputed areas and come to learn that their people whom they protect come under attack again by the enemies,” he said.

“As neighbouring states with the similar experiences border dispute issue, we are very concerned about the innocent lives of our people there in Aweil,” he said.
