On Friday, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that the centre and state government should work together to punish terrorism.
The Prime Minister said that the recent Mumbai and Delhi blasts are a "grave reminder" of the great challenge that terrorists posed to the national security of India.
In New Delhi, Mr Manmohan Singh was addressing the all-India conference of director generals and inspector generals of police, as the PM said the national security situation continued to be critical in spite of practicing the tight measures. Speaking to the annual DGPs and IGPs conference on internal security, the Prime Minister assured that the security environment in the country continues to be “uncertain”.
"The national security situation continues to be uncertain. Recent terror attacks in Mumbai and Delhi are a grave reminder to great challenge posed by terrorists to our nation’s security," these are some words from PM’s speech which he delivered after distributing the service medals to police officers, in Delhi, as reported.
Mr Manmohan Singh also noted that left-wing extremism had also taken the lives of a number of innocent people as well as policemen.
The blast outside the high court area erupted on 7th September and the Mumbai blast took place on 13th July which took many lives and injured scores of people.
