Pakistan has successfully launched the nuclear capable ballistic missile by the name Hatf III on Thursday. The missile covers 290 kilometers and more in range, which means it can take up any target within the neighboring country of India.
A number of senior armed forces officials were present at the time the missile was tested. The location and the experiment of the missile were not announced to the media on a prior notice keeping security concerns in view. One of the senior military officers present at the launching of the missile commented that Pakistan has "strong nuclear deterrence capability” and is fully prepared to fight all those who intend to show aggression towards the country.
The military office released a formal statement informing the country about their successful test launch of Hatf III. The statement said, “The launch was conducted at the conclusion of the annual field training exercise of the Army Strategic Force Command.” The office did not release any more information regarding the missile or the launch of the missile but only mentioned that their latest innovation has the capability of carrying conventional and nuclear warheads within a range of 290 kilometers. It also said that the intention behind the testing of the missile was to check the “the operational readiness of a Strategic Missile Group.”
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wynne said that the individuals associated with the test fire were "entrusted with the task of deterring aggression would continue to train hard and maintain professional excellence." He said that the troop was of "high standard of proficiency in handling and operating the state of the art weapon system."
