Parents of Shane Truman Todd leave from Singapore while his murder investigation is still in the process. Todd – an American software engineer – was found dead in the city-state in the June of 2012.

Rick and Mary Todd – parents of Todd – believe the evidence provided by the Singapore police is forged. The security forces have presented evidence proving that Todd had committed suicide. Rejecting the claims, Rick and Mary say they have lost faith in the coroner’s inquest and they would push for a U.S. congressional investigation.

Lawyer Gloria James-Civetta confirms that the Todd family will not offer any further cooperation in the inquest, instead, will urge to initiate a congressional investigation.

“Our next step from today is using the court of public opinion. If our government wants to talk about industrial espionage and murder, we’re more than willing to help,” Rick Todd said at the airport.

According to Todd’s former colleagues, the deceased did not like his job but appeared open to staying in Singapore because he liked the city. Todd worked at the Institute of Microelectronics (IME). Scientist Vincent Pott told the court on Thursday that he was glad to be leaving his job at IME but was going to miss living in Singapore.

According to research engineer Jeffrey Soon, Todd worked harder after being transferred to the new group. Answering the questions of counsel for IME Philip Jeyaretnam, Soon described Todd as a perfectionist.
