The key political rival of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has began pointing fingers at his commitment to standing firm against the forces engaged in breaching the sovereignty of Pakistan. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan expressed doubts at Nawaz’s dedication to ending drone attacks in the tribal areas of Pakistan.

Khan received a delegation led by Sardar Akhtar Mengal of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) on Sunday. During the meeting, the two discussed various topics including rigging in general elections 2013 and the law and order situation in Balochistan. They also agreed that sufficient evidence has been gathered to establish that the elections were by and large rigged. They urged the authorities to refine the electoral process in order to gain trust of people who have struggled to revive democratic process in Pakistan.

Law and order situation in Balochistan was also thoroughly discussed and both the leaders showed grave concern over the worsening security arrangements in the province. It was mutually agreed that immediate action at both federal and provincial level is required in order to revive peace in the area. Both Khan and Mengal requested higher authorities to recover missing persons and dismantle series of delivering mutilated bodies in Balochistan.

The meeting flourished into a detailed session during which both parties derived a future strategy to be followed in parliament. The process confirmed that PTI and BNP-M still stand together and have their efforts conjoined against rival forces.
