Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has demanded the deployment of army personnel at not only on the sensitive ones but all the polling stations across the country on August 22. Khan claims that he does not want to repeat the bitter episode of May 11 elections.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared a number of polling stations as ‘sensitive’; however, Khan and his party have termed all the polling stations across Pakistan as sensitive. Khan says the only way to avoid rigging and all the other illegal practices is by deploying army personnel.

By-elections for 16 National Assembly seats and 26 provincial assembly seats are scheduled on August 22. The ECP has termed 3,644 of the 7,622 polling stations as ‘sensitive’. A total of 180 candidates are vying for 15 Punjab Assembly seats, 82 for four Sindh Assembly seats, 32 for three Balochistan Assembly seats and 27 for four Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly seats.

Calling out the young and enthusiastic supporters of PTI, Khan reminded them to vote for justice, equality and respect for other people.

“Do not look at who the PTI’s candidate is, just vote for the party’s ideology… Those politicians who used to take their turns to come into power had now become billionaires. People must realize now the power of vote for ideology… We want to make KPK a corruption-free province in the country and we desirous that Judges would go in the villages and announced verdict there,” Khan said.
