The Former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that he is considering about joining the world of politics. Addressing the Lawyers Fraternity in Kahuta this Tuesday, the former chief justice said that as a matter of fact there is a lot of corruption in the country and there is no institution which may stop it.
The Former chief Justice regretted that current rulers have failed to hold their predecessors accountable for plundering the wealth of country. He said the state institutions are being eroded swiftly due to extremely corruption and called for immediate actions to weed out the menace. However, he further added no one should despair about the future of Pakistan as the former CJ said that he sees brighter future for the country.
Iftikhar Chaudhry also emphasized that when it comes to justice, there should be no discrimination in anyone. Jamshed Dasti, a Member of the National Assembly and ex-member of Pakistan People’s Party commented that the Pakistani politics is in a dire need of honest and capable leaders who know how to improve the situation of Pakistan. He said that if the former chief justice has expressed the wish of joining politics then it’s indeed pleasant news for the Pakistani nation.
