The three concerned engineers have been called in for explanation by the Crime and Misconduct Commission (CMC) for investigation into the steps taken to save the biggest dam of Queensland during the floods of 2011 after the post-flood report has been submitted.

The much awaited report was submitted to the Premier Anna Bligh on Friday at Queensland State Parliament, which said that the commission inquiry has found non-compliance in the report submitted for the Wivenhoe Dam. The year-long inquiry’s final report also states that the engineers did try to breach the manual.

Justice Katherine Homes also mentioned that the manual itself was “ambiguous, unclear and difficult to use.”

The inquiry sessions were held earlier in the year for which the report has been submitted today. The report clearly mentioned that the engineers had not followed the manual for water releases of the damn properly which contributed towards the compounded flooding that hit Brisbane and Ipswich.

CMC is further going to examine the report as the report submitted by the commission also mentions that the engineers not only made a huge mistake but also made efforts to cover up their mistake by coming up with a fake report to misguide the commission.

The engineers under question are Rob Ayre, John Tibaidi, and Terry Malone, who continue to plead not guilty.
